ARRA at the Wellington 7s

Day 1 of the Wellington 7s tournament, part of the HSBC Sevens World Series is well under way with Auckland Referees officiating on New Zealand’s 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Already, we’ve seen a number of ARRA referees taking to the field as Assistant Referees and In-Goal-Assistants.

My 20/20 vision has already spotted Angus Mabey and Brigitte Tyler.

Brigitte is no stranger to the Sevens circuit and, additionally, was the first Auckland referee to officiate at an Olympic event when she was selected at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing in 2014.

This very moment, she reported to the referee a cheap shot by the Portuguese No.9 which saw Pedro Leal off to the the bin on his 50th Cap. (This may have been a few hours ago as I’m watching it on MySky)

The Wellington region is also home to our Principal Sponsor, Advantage4me, the powerful web based software system providing coaches, players and match officials with an online tool to analyse performance and training.
